Interviewing Jamie Robinson the photographer

Standard

We had a lot of trouble finding an event within the photography industry for our project. Luckily a member of our group had met up with the photographer, Jamie Robinson. He works in John Rylands Library in Deansgate, Manchester.

Before meeting up with the photographer, we all had a group chat via Facebook so Suzi (group member) who went to the meeting was ready to ask questions which was related to social media and photography within the social media catogery. The question were as follows:-

  • Does photography help or hinder your socialising?
  • Do you think social media in photography is important in manchester?
  • Did you find that social media helped to promote your recent exhibition in New York?
  • What are the benefits as photographer of attending social media events?
  • How important is socializing with other photographers to you as an individual?

We also have recorded this interview as it is part of our project. The link will be up very soon.

So if anyone has any questions or other request please comment below…….

International perspective of Social Media

Standard

Social media around Manchester has some parts of it going on…

At restaurants you can see a lot of social media icons being used such as Follow us on Twitter or Like a Facebook page. The two social platforms are more popular than any other social platforms, which means this is the only way internationals can contacts it by. I have only seen few QR codes used within a University advertisement and magazines (couldn’t get a hang of any pictures but I do actually remember seeing them in these certain places! sorry)

By sharing information like this through social websites also explains what kind of culture around the Manchester area has from what others see about the Manchester area from other cities.

I have seen a lot of people use Check-in and also other sorts of Social platforms like ‘Foursquare’ (which I personally use my self) which is more like a feedback of the places you been to or you have checked in at so other users can see how much it is rated out of whatever and what the place is all about. This app on phones can help a person learn about the place, town, country or whatever.

This would improve and would also increase a number of buyers and traffic from all over the world.

Social Media in the Photography industry

Standard

Social Media has many advantages in the photography industry around Manchester.

There are many people out in the manchester region who love photography. These photographers show their work through a social platform such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Flickr, name it, they all show their work through these websites. The purpose for this is to connect with potential clients who would love to get professional photos taken for their special day such as, Weddings, Birthdays, or any other private to business events.

I have seen many clubs that also use Facebook to share photos with their clients from the previous nights partying as it is easier to share than getting everyone contact and sending them privately; this option would be the easiest route of all to collect pictures that are at the interest of clients.

For those who are making there way up to becoming a proffesional or just for interest uses, there are mobile apps used for mobile users, which can be taken from anywhere edited and uploaded to a social platform, to show your peice of art work.

Manchester is a creative, energetic and cosmopolitan city noted for its music scene, media links and industrial past.Manchester has many social media scenes, which has the famous Media City UK, that includes channels of Cbeebies and BBC channels as well as ITV. This place is worth visiting. Also the very famous ‘East is East’ film is made in Salford, Manchester, which has captured every ones heart as it is a very funny.

Manchester’s Social Media Scene

Standard

There are many locations around Manchester that has many social events happening which is based in anything and that is everywhere.

Photographers, car show room, fashion show, wedding exhibitions, and many other social events, they all involve some sort of media to help people get together and attend these shows. The only way it goes out to everyone is by of course sending them by social media, which can include, Facebook, Twitter to advertise their organisations!

As this is part of a project, I will be attended few events to get some work started with social media scenarios within the Manchester area. Manchester is really known for its social events, as it always has connections with all types of people and culture from all over the world, as it is multicultural so it would be exciting to see many of other events which I have not really seen!

I’m quite looking forward to this so…… Yay :)

How to make Mango Mojito

Standard

Well I will be telling you about making my own Mango Mojito which I made at home recently just for fun as a friend came over. I thought if I start from scratch I could start building my skills now and make my way up to make it professionally and I will know how to make it in the future properly if I have not made it properly first time, they say ‘practise makes perfect’.

What I used in the drink was

Mango Mojito

  • Sprite
  • 2 pieces of lime cut into four pieces
  • Fresh Mint
  • Rubicon Mango (depend on servings)
You may also use to add more flavouring to mango
  • Fresh Mangoes (depend on servings) (optional)
  • Mango Syrup (optional)
  • Crushed Ice

Firstly I crushed and cut mint, and put them into the glass. I then added half glass of Sprite and then added half glass of Mango juice to give a mango zesty taste. I then  used to pieces of lime and squeezed the juice of lime into the glass for flavour and then I threw the lime into the lime into glass for the taste to stay, I then added more mint on top and left it in the fridge to give it that kick of flavour to mix. This method is only used per glass.

Hope this simple recipe comes in use for your parties and what so ever, please do comment and rate :D

Enjoy

Thank You! :D

Digital Identity/Online presence part two

Standard

I am not exactly sure where this is part of the digital Identity but I will be going ahead with this blog :D

I have just went through the University Website and realised that my picture with a colleague has been put up on the website!

It was quite shocking to see my picture up there, as when ever I look at the picture makes me feel like I am a devoted Student at University of Salford ….( sounds very geeky of me but I like my education) :D

Here is a link to the website Click here as the image is part of an article.
