Me and My Media!

Standard

Heya viewers…… glad to see me back?

Well, I will be talking about about media privacy in this blog.

How many of us worry about the privacy over social networking platforms? It is quite disturbing the fact we have to reveal some information according to each social networking website policy. You sometimes do not realise that what information is being given out.

Below, I have posted a video the facts about these social website and problems which affects, and what can be done to be safe in the Social media world.

We all access social media everyday to update our statuses, write on wall, writing a blog, adding pictures or posting YouTube links through Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, name it all, I am sure you must know what I mean. It has affected our lives so much that, its come to an extent where we download applications on our phones, such as Apple, Blackberry, Android, HTC, Nokia to keep up to date and we do not miss out any event or other information. These applications are sometimes are even used by connecting application to our numbers, once they opt for it, it is connected to the social websites also, and this can get serious issues as there are a number of hackers around, which we should be aware of.

As I have social accounts to, I make sure I do not give out too much information, just for my own safety.

This all is all part of using Technology, which in some cases can be a bad thing, especially by exploiting data.

I have had few problems with Facebook security in the past as it was only set to one, and I must admit the new Facebook security is so much more better as I can limit the audience of my status to one sort of audience and the wall post from friends to another set of audience. This way you are much more better off than showing everything to either public or to ‘Friends’ only.

So to conclude, there more options available on how to manage your privacy. And readers, always read the terms and conditions before accepting anything, look at what the policy has got to say before getting yourselves into trouble. As most of the social websites do send data to third parties, yes, even sometimes without notifying you. I don’t my lovely readers to be upset, so I am just looking out for you all:)

Has this information been any useful to you? Also please comment if you have any thoughts on how to make social websites a safer place to be, and what changes can be made to privacy :D
